About the project
Still Point Turning: The Catherine McGregor Story, written and directed by Priscilla Jackman premieres at Sydney Theatre Company in April 2018. The production is an account of the fascinating life of Catherine McGregor from childhood through to the present day, told through her own words. It is a story of a figure who moves between different worlds from military, to politics to cricket. It is a life of extremes: from the depths of alcoholism, to recovery from the loss of her parents to the discovery of herself. It explores the journey of transitioning genders: the experience of gender dysphoria, the reactions of her friends and colleagues, the public scrutiny, the important connections she has made. And the life-affirming reality of expressing herself as she truly is.
