About the Project:

Da Vinci’s Apprentice is an ambitious new Australian cross-disciplined work. It is the story of Roberta Paladino, a bright and enthusiastic girl  living in 16th century Italy, who dreams of becoming an apprentice to the greatest inventor of all, Leonardo da Vinci. Along the way, she meets a trio of musicians equipped with the weird and wonderful instruments of their time. With music by young Australian composer, Sally Greenaway, and script by writers Catherine Prosser and Paul Bissett, and directed by Priscilla Jackman, Da Vinci’s Apprentice is an original musical journey of discovery where students are challenged to expect the unexpected! With a focus on STEMS, Roberta’s journey is  engaging and courageous as she learns to become the inventor she always knew she could become – despite the constraints of gender, social expectiations… and gravity! This is a production about believing in the impossible, reaching our potential and taking flight! Da Vinci’s Apprentice will tour nationally to schools across Australia between 2018 – 2021.
